ABOUT VADA

VADA (Virtual American Dance Academy) is a scholarship program intended to bring a new, innovative approach in education, specifically targeting urban dance as a fast-raising discipline in the region through hybrid teaching modules of both online and offline models of work.

The VADA – Virtual American Dance Academy is a project established as a collaboration between: the U.S Embassy in North Macedonia, Civil Society Organization “Beatrix Cultural Center”, Social-Cultural Space “Center Jadro” and Youth Cultural Center.
Other partners of the Academy are “American Dance Abroad” and “American Voices” organizations.

The program is supported by the Washington State Department.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

We are seeking enthusiastic, quality dancers who intend to provide for the community in future.
VADA’s goal is to bring expertise, as well as educate young dancers and teachers aiming to bring higher quality in their future work, thereby providing benefits for the whole dancing community of North Macedonia.

An opportunity for participation will be given to applicants who will fulfill eligibility criteria and provide requested documentation , but most importantly, it will be awarded to strong willed, proactive and young artists who would bring value to the community.
The scholarship will be awarded to 30 applicants from Skopje, North Macedonia who will work together at Youth Cultural Center as a core-group of the project.
An opportunity for participation for dancers and dance centers outside of Skopje, will be also awarded and they will be able to follow the program online.

The evaluation of applications will be done by commission consisting of: a representative of Beatrix Cultural Center, a representative of  the U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia and a representative of Social-Cultural Space “Centar-Jadro”.
